Galaxy Note 5 now rumored to be launching in mid-August

Samsung officially shot down rumors of the Galaxy Note 5 getting announced in July, but it looks like rumblings of the company’s next Note flagship being on track for an earlier unveiling might not be completely false. Reuters is citing an unnamed source as saying that the Galaxy Note 5 will be made official in mid-August, around two weeks before Samsung usually holds its Unpacked event.

We always hear rumors of the next Samsung flagship being launched earlier than when one would expect, and they have pretty much always turned out to be just that: rumors. However, given this is coming from Reuters, it’s possible there is some truth to the matter. People are saying that one reason for the early launch could be because the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge haven’t managed to make a huge mark on the company’s earnings, and also because Samsung intends to make sure it can out the Galaxy Note 5 before Apple comes up with the iPhone 6S Plus.

But with all such rumors, it’s best to take this one with a pinch of salt. Regardless of when the Galaxy Note 5 will come out, we can be certain it will be yet another masterpiece in the vein of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, even though it might do away with an important feature that is revered by a lot of consumers out there.

Still people complaining about removeable battery and SD Card?! Cloud storage like Dropbox and Google+ for photos and videos is unbelievable! And there’s rarely an hour that goes by where I don’t have wifi or data connection! People need to move with the times. 32GB is enough for many people, 64GB for everyone. The SD Card I can slightly understand for developers, but removeable battery? I’ve yet to meet anyone who carries around a spare BATTERY, it’s cheaper to buy a portable charger that lasts longer than a new battery. I think people are slating too much on Samsung, the… Read more »

Hopefully rumours are true on this release date. I need an upgrade from my Note 2 and need to know if I’ll be getting the Note 4 or another brand altogether if the Note 5 is a fail without MicroSD.

Good? Hopefully Samsung makes the default storage up to 64gb this time for the Note 5 & also include a LED flash at the front of the device thanks!

First the radio, now sd-card and battery, REALLY SAMSUNG??!!! I’ am afraid that you will present Note 6 in December… 2015 since you will realize your failure. “one reason for the early launch could be because the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge haven’t managed to make a huge mark on the company’s earnings” I wonder why? I don’t think everyone wants to pay 870/960 euros to buy S6/edge with 64Gb when you can add a 64 micro-sd card with 25 – 40 (max) euros .And the cloud (for storage purposes) is not reliable since there are moments/places where you… Read more »

If Note 5 gets out like the s6 with internal battery and no sd card slot… I’m done with Samsung.
I am really considering moving to iPhone 6 plus or 6S Plus. The other brands with android are the same regarding updates or even worse!!
I dont like that much IOS but at least there is support!! My girlfriend has a “crappy” iPhone 4s and it will be updated to the latest IOS 9!!
Nexus its not an options i think!!

newer nexus may have sd card because android m will support it as internal storage together with internal phone storage but samsung wont ready maybe s7 with android m touchwiz and notee 6

and how many features she got from IOS9? my experience with my iphones is that older phones get bogged down severely from later updates – forcing one to replace the phone cause the experience is so bad.

The glimming sides on my Note 4 have almost completely chipped off. The back is losing the notebook look on te bottom and is completely going flat and dirty. Also there is dirt between the glass an the metal frame that I am not able to remove. The screen is full of little scratches.

The device reboots itself, like everyday. Or TW blocks so I need to remove the battery to get it back.

Samsung needs to be happy I had even worse experiences with Sony and LG.
