But Samsung seems to have forgotten that many of its fans also love quick software updates, and to that I ask: Where is the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 upgrade for the Galaxy S20 FE and the Galaxy S21 FE?
Samsung has updated the other Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 smartphones to the new operating system in many markets. But the FE models are still stuck on Android 12, days after even affordable devices like the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy M32 5G were updated to Android 13.
These FE models have always received updates separately from their non-FE cousins. But no one knows why considering they all feature pretty much the same hardware. And fixing that unfairness with the Android 13/One UI 5.0 update would have been a nice little gift for Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE owners, but Samsung clearly didn't think so.
And, let's be honest, these Fan Edition phones aren't exactly meant for the geeky fans, the ones who care about new software updates. Otherwise, Samsung wouldn't have launched any of them with an Exynos chip in some markets. Still, the least Samsung could have done was upgrade the FE models to One UI 5.0 at the same time as the non-FE models, but that hasn't happened.
The worst thing about it? We don't really know how much longer Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE owners will have to wait. Samsung has the FE models pegged for the upgrade in November in some markets and December in others, so there's no clarity on the subject at this time. The only thing we can hope for is that Samsung does the needful in November itself, even if it doesn't release the update in every country.
Do you own a Galaxy S20 FE or S21 FE and are disappointed that you still haven't received Android 13 and One UI 5.0? Let us know down in the comments!
