Galaxy S20 FE 5G’s unlocked model gets June 2022 security update in the US

A couple of weeks ago, the international variants of the Galaxy S20 FE and the Galaxy S20 FE 5G received the June 2022 security patch. Yesterday, the carrier-locked version of the phone received the update in the US. Today, the unlocked model of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G has received an update in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G (SM-G781U1) comes with firmware version G781U1UES7EVF1 in the US. It brings the June 2022 security update to the table that fixes over five dozen privacy and security vulnerabilities. It could also bring device stability improvements and general bug fixes.

If you have a carrier-unlocked unit of the Galaxy S20 FE in the US, you can download the latest software update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE in the second half of 2020. The phone came pre-installed with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 software. It received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update earlier this year. It will also get the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update.
