The Galaxy S21 FE is now getting the One UI 5.1 update, just like all the recent Galaxy S flagships. The update, identified by firmware version G990B2XXU1EWAJ is now rolling out across numerous European countries, including:
The One UI 5.1 brings numerous new additions to Samsung's proprietary firmware, but some may remain exclusive to the Galaxy S23 series, particularly if any hardware limitations that need to be considered. Expert RAW quality-of-life features, for example, won't be available for phones that don't support the pro-grade photography app.
One UI 5.1 brings a couple of new widgets, some improvements to the Camera app, individual wallpapers for Modes and Scenes, better media output and connectivity with Wi-Fi speakers, a Shared Family Album for the Gallery, and more. You can check out our video below for a closer look at One UI 5.1, but keep in mind that we showcase it on the Galaxy S23 Ultra rather than the Galaxy S21 FE.
If you own the Galaxy S21 FE, as always, you can download the new firmware via the notification once it arrives or by attempting to trigger the update process by opening the Settings app on your phone, navigating to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” And if you prefer manual updates over a PC, you can head over to the firmware section on our website, where you can find official Samsung One UI update files.
Thanks for the tip, @PanosM_GR!
