One UI 7 lets you blur any wallpaper for that extra artistic look

Everyone likes a nice wallpaper, and some of us change the wallpaper on our phones more often than others. But choosing the right wallpaper can sometimes be a chore, particularly for those who put a lot of app shortcuts and widgets on the home screen.

A busy wallpaper can interfere with the app icons and make their labels hard to read. But Samsung has added a neat little solution for this with One UI 7.0: you can blur a wallpaper before applying it.

The option to add an effect or filter to the wallpaper isn't new. On One UI 6 you can turn a wallpaper black and white or add a color filter on it. You even have a blur option, but it's only available if you are using an image that has people in it, and it only blurs the background.

That's not the case on One UI 7. One UI 7 lets you blur any wallpaper, and for photos of people, you can either blur the entire image or just the background. This gives some wallpapers a more artistic look while keeping the home screen icons and app names legible.

Here's an example of how a wallpaper looks on a home screen with lots of icons with (right) and without (left) a blur effect applied:

This is one of many tiny changes in One UI 7 that are extremely handy and make the user experience better. Watch the video below to see how the wallpaper blur feature works, and for more One UI 7 video content, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel!
