A couple of weeks after the Galaxy A52 received the latest Android and One UI security update, its big-screen cousin, the Galaxy A72, is joining the party as well. A new update has been released for the Galaxy A72 in some Asian countries, and it comes bundled with the August 2024 security patch.

Galaxy A72 August 2024 updates brings more than just security fixes

The firmware version accompanying the update is A725FXXU9FXH1 and suggests that it brings more than just security enhancements. A changelog isn't available at the time of writing, but the update likely brings general stability and reliability improvements, similar to the update released for the Galaxy A25 series earlier this week.

To download the latest update on the Galaxy A72, navigate to its Settings » Software update menu. Then, tap the Download and install button. You can also download Galaxy A72 firmware from SamMobile and install it on the phone using a Windows computer.

In most markets, this will be the second security update for the Galaxy A72 following the One UI 6.1 update Samsung released back in May this year. One UI 6.1 was the final feature update for this A-series phone, and by this time next year, it will most likely stop receiving updates for good.
