Samsung rolling out July 2022 security update to Galaxy A42 5G

Samsung has released a new software update to the Galaxy A42 5G. The mid-range smartphone has started getting the July 2022 security update in various European countries, including France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.

The new software update for the Galaxy A42 5G brings the device firmware version to A426BXXS3DVF3. The update includes the July 2022 security patch that fixes over 50 privacy and security vulnerabilities. It could also include general bug fixes and improve the stability of the device.

If you are a Galaxy A42 5G user in Europe, you can download and install the new software update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A42 5G in September 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2 software. The device received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year.
