As many of you are aware, Samsung has its own beta program since it pairs every major Android update with a new One UI version. One UI 5.0 is eagerly awaited but there's no sign of the beta program starting yet.
Last we heard, Samsung was gearing up to launch the One UI 5.0 beta in the third week of July. Everything was good to go for the launch but as July comes to a close, the beta still hasn't arrived. Samsung was aiming to release the Android 13 One UI 5.0 update to the public by October this year. This delay could result in the public release being pushed back as well.
The company has opened its official One UI 5.0 forum for the beta program. This is where all of the beta testers will be able to provide their feedback for Samsung to make improvements and fixes before the final build is released. Evidently, there's still progress, but the beta launch itself remains elusive.
Perhaps it's due to Google that the launch has been delayed? Samsung might feel that the Android 13 beta still requires more fixes before it can go ahead with its own beta program. Google has been rolling out new Android 13 beta builds with bug fixes recently. Maybe Samsung just wants Google to sort things out at its end before proceeding with the beta.
Be that as it may, one can only hope that the One UI 5.0 beta is launched in the near future, ideally before the August 10 Unpacked event. The beta program is certainly not going to steal the spotlight from Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones.
