Samsung fans are looking forward to the One UI 5.0 public beta. It will enable them to get a taste of Android 13 on eligible Samsung devices before the final release. The company hasn’t confirmed as yet when it plans on launching the beta, but we hear that it’s happening in the near future.
The Galaxy S22 series will be the first to receive the One UI 5.0 beta builds. You can expect Samsung to expand the program to additional devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Samsung to launch One UI 5.0 beta program next month
We had previously reported that Samsung may launch the One UI 5.0 beta program by July. SamMobile can now confirm a more precise timeframe. We hear that the Galaxy S22 One UI 5.0 beta will go live in the third week of July.
Our sources have also revealed to us that Samsung is planning the public release for its One UI 5.0 Android 13 update in October. The Galaxy S22 series will be the first to get it. Samsung will then gradually make it available to all Galaxy devices that are eligible for One UI 5.0.
If history is any indication, we won’t have to wait for too long. Samsung did an incredible job with the Android 12 One UI 4.0 roll out last year. The Galaxy S21 series got the public release in November 2021. By the following month, the update was out for the foldables, the Galaxy S10 series, the Galaxy Tab S7 series and other devices.
One UI 5.0 is set to arrive a month before its predecessor did. There’s going to be plenty of time for Samsung to release it for many eligible devices before the end of 2022. It’s going to be yet another feature in the company’s cap. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that one of the things Samsung was criticized the most about was the slow pace of its software updates.
