Samsung has started rolling out the Android 12L update to eligible foldable phones and tablets. Over the past week, the update has been released to the Galaxy Tab S7 and the Galaxy Tab S8. Now, the update has been released to the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, bearing firmware version F926NKSU1DVH9, has been released in South Korea. However, it doesn't bring the new security patch, and the phone is still on the August 2022 security patch.

If you're a Galaxy Z Fold 3 in South Korea, you can download and install the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update on your device and tapping Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware from our database and flash it manually.

What's new in Galaxy Z Fold 3 Android 12L (One UI 4.1.1) update?

The Android 12L update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 brings the taskbar to the bottom of the screen, allowing you to switch between apps more easily. You can drag apps from the taskbar and drop them above for more effortless split-screen multitasking or open apps in a floating window. You can pin app pairs to the taskbar, too.

There are new gestures for opening apps in the split-screen multitasking mode. Samsung has added window handles, which make it easier to open apps in split-screen mode, full-screen mode, or in a floating window.

Samsung has also added the ability to display app names in Edge Panel. With improved Flex Mode, you can use one half of the screen as a touchpad to control apps as you do on a laptop. The updated software allows you to set different call backgrounds for each contact.

The company has also made it easier to use rear cameras for capturing selfies. You can preview the camera's viewfinder simultaneously on the cover and internal display. You can also use one half of the screen as the viewfinder and see captured images on the other half of the foldable screen.

Samsung now allows extracting text from images in the Gallery app or directly from the camera. Even Samsung Keyboard can extract the text using the camera using the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technique. Extracted text can be shared or translated. The phone even suggests actions based on the extracted text.

Samsung Keyboard now offers more emojis, emoji pairs, and even kaomoji. You can select which keys you want to see in the spacebar row. You can edit wallpaper collections and experience smoother animations and transitions across the UI.

The search functionality within the My Files app has been improved. Search results can be filtered, sorted, and the app can find information within files (such as documents and images). You can even search within the current folder or the whole file system.
