As we entered this month, Samsung detailed the June 2026 security patch for Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches, and started rolling it out. However, the brand still isn’t done releasing the May 2026 security patch to some devices. One of them was the Galaxy Tab A9+, but not anymore.
Samsung has released an update for the Galaxy Tab A9+, and it brings the May 2026 security patch, which fixes 45 security issues present in the previous version of the OS. At the moment, the brand is rolling it out to the tablet’s cellular (5G) as well as non-cellular (Wi-Fi-only) variants in India.
The update for the cellular (5G) variant is 510.12MB in size and carries firmware version X216BXXSCEZED (via Samsung Community). To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The Galaxy Tab A9+ is expected to get Samsung’s new Android customisation, One UI 8.5, but there is no confirmation from the brand about it yet. The new software offers a redesigned UI and many new features.
