As foretold by multiple leaks and renders, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with an improved S Pen and a silo in the chassis. Its model number, SM-S908E/DS, tells us that it will run a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It follows the footsteps of Asia/Africa-bound Galaxy S22 devices that are expected to launch with a Qualcomm SoC.
The lower-specced Galaxy S22 has also shown up on the website alongside its sibling with model number SM-S901E /DS and a 3,700mAh battery. It, too, will skip the Exynos 2200 for Qualcomm silicon. Only the Galaxy S22+ is remaining and it's only a matter of time before it shows up.
The certification also tells us that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will not ship with a charger/headset in the box, because that's something we're going to have to get used to now. Its battery bears a model number of EB-BS908ABY, has a 5,000mAh capacity and will reportedly support 45W fast charging.
Other Galaxy S22 Ultra specs include up to 1TB of storage, Gorilla Glass Protection for the cameras, and an 8GB RAM variant, which is odd. It is expected to reuse the Galaxy S21 Ultra's camera layout, but offset the repetition by introducing a host of new camera features. Samsung will unveil the smartphone on February 8 at its signature Unpacked event.
