The update could be released in other regions soon.
The new security update for the Galaxy S21 series comes with firmware version G99xBXXS9FWL9 and is rolling out across Europe. The update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra comes bearing firmware version S90xBXXS7DWL3 and has a download size of around 260MB. Samsung has also released a new security update to the Galaxy S23 series in the region. It comes with firmware version S91xBXXS3BWL3, and it has a download size of around 400MB.
If you live in Europe and have a Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, or Galaxy S23 series smartphone (not the FE versions in the series), you can now check for the new software update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung has started rolling out new security updates to these phones to fix around 75 security flaws discovered in the previous software version. With the One UI 6.0 update, the OLED screen burn-in protection was missing, and this new update is supposed to solve that issue. However, it remains to be seen if that feature has actually come back.
This could be the last software update to these phones before the One UI 6.1 update is released. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be the first to run One UI 6.1, and it is launching early next week. A few days after the phone's launch, the One UI 6.1 update is expected to be released to Samsung's phones and tablets.
