Samsung has released the One UI 5.1 update to three mid-range smartphones: Galaxy F22, Galaxy F23 5G, and Galaxy M23 5G. All these smartphones started getting the new One UI update earlier this week. None of these three phones are getting the March 2023 security patch with the new update, though.

The Galaxy F22 is getting the One UI 5.1 update with firmware version E225FXXS5CWB2 in India and some other Asian markets. The One UI 5.1 update is rolling out to the Galaxy F23 5G with firmware version E236BXXU2CWC1. For the Galaxy M23 5G, the One UI 5.1 update has arrived with firmware version M236BXXU2CWC1 in Europe and Latin America.

If you have a Galaxy F22, Galaxy F23 5G, or Galaxy M23 5G in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can download the One UI 5.1 update on your phone. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

What’s new with the One UI 5.1 update for Galaxy F22, Galaxy F23 5G, and Galaxy M23 5G?

One UI 5.1 brings the ability to quickly change the selfie color tone from the Camera app. It also brings improved image remastering (not applicable to Galaxy F22), better search in the Gallery app, Shared Family Album, and EXIF information viewing and editing for images and videos. You can search for images of more than one subject or person simultaneously. You can even tap their faces in an image rather than searching for their names to bring more images of those persons.

You can easily minimize an app’s window size or switch to full-screen mode by dragging that app’s window corners. When you are switching to the split-screen multitasking mode, the second half of the screen shows frequently opened apps to make the process faster. There is a new battery widget that shows the battery charge level of the phone and its connected accessories.

When paired to a Windows PC using Windows Phone Link and using the PC, you can access webpage tabs that you browsed using Samsung Internet. Samsung Internet’s search feature displays matching bookmarks and history in the same view. The Smart Suggestions widget shows music recommendations from Spotify.

The Modes & Routines app now has more options, including the ability to control font style, Quick Share, ringtone, touch sensitivity, and wallpaper settings. The Weather app displays all the important information towards the top, an hourly precipitation graph, and has a new Dynamic Weather widget.

Once you install the One UI 5.1 update on your phone, you can choose where (folder) the screenshots are saved. The Galaxy F22, Galaxy F23, and Galaxy M23 5G will show search suggestions in the Settings app.

And yet, whether or not it’s […]

Although Samsung has already released the Galaxy A14 5G in India, the 4G variant is lagging behind. You could say it was expected, given that the 5G variant, once it became official in other markets outside of India earlier this year, beat the 4G model to the finish line by about a month. Regardless, Samsung […]
