Samsung has launched two new mid-range smartphones for 2023: Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G. The Galaxy A54 5G has better camera quality, faster overall performance, and higher durability. The device also lasts longer than its predecessor, the Galaxy A53 5G, thanks to its bigger battery.

The South Korean firm says the Galaxy A54 5G can shoot steady and crisp videos, help users see clearly even in bright conditions, and do more things consumers love with a two-day battery life. It will be available in most markets for purchase by the end of March 2023.

Galaxy A54 5G’s 50MP camera has bigger pixels, faster focus, and improved OIS

The Galaxy 54 5G has three rear-facing cameras. There is a 50MP primary camera with bigger pixels (1µm) and improved OIS, resulting in sharper images and smoother videos, even in low-light conditions. The OIS can compensate for 57% more shakes (1.5°) and vibrations compared to the one on the Galaxy A53 5G (0.95°). The phone’s VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization) is now 4x more responsive than the previous generation phone. The camera also features dual-pixel autofocus, which means faster and more accurate focusing even in low light and challenging conditions.

The phone has a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. It can record smoother and brighter 4K videos using both front and rear cameras. Users can also try removing unwanted elements, such as reflections and shadows, from their images using the built-in image editor.

Exynos 1380 is more powerful than Galaxy A53 5G’s Exynos 1280 chipset

The Galaxy A54 5G is equipped with the new Exynos 1380 processor, which is a lot faster than the Exynos 1280 used in the Galaxy A53 5G. The 5nm chipset has four high-performance Cortex-A78 CPU cores, two more than the Exynos 1280. It also features a 20% faster GPU, leading its gaming performance to levels similar to the Snapdragon 778G used in the Galaxy A52s 5G. The phone has 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot.

Focus on improved durability, longevity, and security

Samsung has designed the Galaxy A54 5G with durability and longevity in mind. The phone is protected using Gorilla Glass on the front and the rear. It is also IP67 certified for dust and water resistance. The Galaxy A54 5G comes pre-installed with Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software, and Samsung has planned to offer up to four major Android OS updates to its new phone.

The smartphone has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,000 nits peak brightness (Vision Booster). All of this goes really well with the phone’s stereo speakers which have deeper bass and improved loudness. It has Dolby Atmos and Voice Focus. It also has GPS, a dual-SIM card slot, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy A54 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that is compatible with 25W fast charging.

The Galaxy A54 5G is launching in four attractive colors: Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White.

TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung MX, said, “Cutting-edge mobile experiences are increasingly essential to everyday life. With continuous enhancements to the Galaxy A series, we’re ensuring that more people around the world can access our transformative innovations.
