Samsung's Galaxy A smartphone series for 2023 has expanded with the addition of two new models. One is the Galaxy A34 5G, which Samsung announced today after many leaks and rumors. It's a low-cost mid-range phone, not as powerful as the Galaxy A54 5G but boasting more features than the Galaxy A14 5G.

Samsung announced that the Galaxy A34 5G will go on sale before the end of March, although exact pricing and availability will vary by market. Buyers can pick from four “Awesome” color options. They are lime, graphite, violet, and silver. Samsung says the phone will be available starting with select markets in Europe and Southeast Asia.

New photography editing tools debut on the Galaxy A series

Accorgint to its creators, the Galaxy A34 5G delivers stunning images with clear quality thanks to Nightography and AI capabilities. The primary camera has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization). And this year, the OIS feature has better blur reduction thanks to a wider angle, from 0.95 to 1.5 degrees.

For the first time in the history of the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A34 5G boasts enhanced editing tools that allow users to remove unwanted shadows and reflections from their photos. The phone also boasts auto night photography. And voice calls have clearer audio thanks to Voice Focus, which isolates the user's voice from background noise.

To top it all off, Samsung claims that the Galaxy A34 5G has enough battery life to last “more than two days.” But the company doesn't specify how many hours of video/audio playback or internet browsing the Galaxy A34 5G can deliver on a full battery charge. The two days claim is vague, but it shouldn't be entirely unfounded, so there is hope that the Galaxy A34 5G delivers great autonomy on a single charge.

Galaxy A34 5G display is friendlier to your eyes

The Galaxy A34 5G is equipped with a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display boasting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and Vision Booster technology for higher visibility in bright environments. The phone is SGS-certified, as the display's blue light ratio has decreased from 12.5% on the Galaxy A33 down to 6.5% on the Galaxy A34.

The camera system consists of a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, autofocus, and OIS. The other cameras have fixed focus. They include the 8MP ultra-wide shooter (f/2.2), the 5MP macro camera (f/2.4), and the 13MP selfie camera (f/2.2).

The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip is powering the 2023 model. Samsung will offer the phone with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, expandable by up to 1TB via microSD.

A 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging capabilities beats at the heart of the A34. And in line with Samsung's stellar firmware game, the phone runs Android 13 and One UI 5.1 and offers Samsung Knox security features. Samsung says the Galaxy A34 5G is good for four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security patches.

Everything is wrapped in a phone that weighs 199 grams and measures 161.3 x 78.1 x 8.2mm. The A34 even has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. Lastly, it will ship with 100GB of OneDrive cloud storage and a six-month trial to Microsoft 365 Basic.

This one case can make your Galaxy A34 look timeless

This one case can make your Galaxy A34 look timeless

Nearly every Samsung phone has an Infinity-O display nowadays. The Infinity-V cutout is barely getting used, and even lower-cost Galaxy A phones, such as the new Galaxy A35, have transitioned from Infinity-U to the superior Infinity-O design. The Infinity-O screen alone might not be a good-enough reason for Galaxy A34 owners to upgrade to the […]
