Towards the end of last year, Samsung's high-end phones started getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update. Earlier this year, various mid-range phones, including the Galaxy A42 5G, received the Android 12 update. However, the carrier-unlocked version of the Galaxy A42 5G has just now started getting the major OS update.
The Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update for the Galaxy A42 5G comes with firmware version A426U1UEU3BVD5. This update is meant for the carrier-unlocked version of the phone, and it brings Android 12 along with One UI 4.1 and the March 2022 security patch. The update is currently available on Bluegrass Cellular's network. More carriers are expected to release the update on their networks within the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy A42 5G user in the US, you can now download and install the Android 12 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
