Soon after the announcement of the Galaxy S23, Samsung started rolling out the One UI 5.1 update to its high-end smartphones. The Galaxy S20 series received the update three weeks ago, but was limited to international units. The carrier-locked models in the Galaxy S20 series have started getting the One UI 5.1 update.

The One UI 5.1 update for the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra is available in the US. It comes with firmware version G98xUSQU3HWB5 and includes the February 2023 security patch. The update is available on T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks.

If you have a carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, or Galaxy S20 Ultra in the US, you can download the One UI 5.1 update on your phone by heading to Settings » Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

You can also create a Shared Family Album to share images and videos with family members using a Galaxy phone or tablet.

When multitasking, you can minimize or maximize an app's window by dragging one of its corners. In split-screen multitasking mode, the phone displays frequently accessed apps first to make things faster. The One UI 5.1 update also brings Bixby Text Call, which can listen to what the caller is saying and convert it into text, and suggests replies on the screen that you can click, and those replies will be converted into voice and relayed on your behalf.

A new battery widget displays the battery charge levels of the phone and its connected accessories. The Settings app now displays search suggestions. The Smart Suggestions widget now displays music and playlist recommendation from Spotify. One UI 5.1 allows you to choose the folder where you want screenshots to be saved.
