Samsung has released both the Wi-Fi and LTE variants of the Galaxy Tab A7 in South Africa and the tablet has an introductory price of 3,999 Rand ($255) after an instant 995 Rand ($63) discount at checkout. The discount applies only to the Wi-Fi model whereas the Galaxy Tab A7 LTE is available for the full retail price of 6,495 Rand ($415).
Samsung customers in South Africa who may be looking to buy the Galaxy Tab A7 can take advantage of a 50% discount on the Book Cover Case as long as they purchase the slate before December 31. The accessory is usually available for 1,459 Rand ($93) when purchased separately.
The Galaxy Tab A7 in South Africa is available only with one color option, Dark Grey, applied to the tablet's metal unibody. Under the hood resides the Snapdragon 662 chipset and 3GB of RAM. This combination delivers enough power to enjoy multimedia content and mobile games, though overall performance – particularly in the UI – is merely sufficient.
The tablet's biggest strengths lie in the premium-feel metal build, good battery life, and excellent stereo sound. On the other hand, the cameras are nothing special and Samsung hasn't included a fast charger in the tablet's retail box, so keep that in mind. You'll have to buy an official Samsung charger separately before you'll be able to take advantage of 15W fast charging.
