The Galaxy S25 Ultra is Samsung's newest flagship smartphone. It builds upon last year's already impressive Galaxy S24 Ultra by offering an upgraded camera, faster performance, and better durability. It also brings improved Galaxy AI features. Let us have a look at some of the best Galaxy S25 Ultra features.
Seven Galaxy S25 Ultra features you need to know
1. Improved camera quality, featuring a 50MP ultrawide camera
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a new quad-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 200MP primary camera with OIS, a new 50MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP super-telephoto camera.
Compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the new phone can capture better images and videos from its ultrawide camera, thanks to its higher resolution and an F1.9 aperture. It also features PDAF, so it can double up as a macro camera, offering higher details than earlier.
Those aren't the only improvements, even though the rest of the hardware may appear similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Thanks to the new ISP inside the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip, the phone can capture images and videos with higher details, richer colors, wider dynamic range, and lower noise.
The improved ProVisual Engine uses multi-frame capture and merge mechanisms to reduce noise and improve dynamic range. Noise is also reduced by the Double Analysis Noise Removal feature.
The Spatio Temporal Filter distinguishes static and moving subjects in a frame and processes them differently in a way that everything in an image appears clear and sharp. This may solve the age-old motion blur problem found in the cameras on Galaxy phones.
The phone can capture 50MP RAW images and offers flexibility with its new Single Take mode. It also records 10-bit videos by default. It can also capture 8K 30fps videos using primary, ultrawide, and super-telephoto cameras.
Samsung is also offering the ability to record videos in Galaxy Log format for a flatter color profile. While videos recorded in the log format appear dull and washed out, you can edit those videos in your favorite video editor and grade colors according to your preferences or quickly color-correct them in the built-in Gallery app.

2. Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chip
The Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor is a massive improvement over the Galaxy S24 Ultra's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chip.
Samsung says the new chip has a 37% faster CPU, 30% beefier GPU, and 40% faster NPU. So, everything from general day-to-day multitasking and high-end gaming to camera usage and AI performance should be faster. Such a high jump in performance compared to the previous generation isn't usually seen.
Since the new chip is fabricated using a 3nm process node, it is more power efficient. So, doing the same things that you did in previous Galaxy phones should use less battery, resulting in longer battery life.
3. New and improved Galaxy AI features
Several Galaxy AI features, which required an active internet connection on the Galaxy S24, are now achieved with on-device processing. So, things are faster and more reliable. Generative Edit is one of those features that can happen locally on the device.
New AI-powered features include the Now Brief. Galaxy AI now has improved Browsing Assist, Chat Assist, and Style and Grammar features. Browsing Assist can now read summarized articles aloud. Writing Assist has a new UI that you can use anywhere you type. Drawing Assist now offers two new preset drawing styles.
Audio Eraser, which is a part of Galaxy AI, can identify up to six types of audio in videos, and you can then selectively decrease or increase their volume according to your preferences. For example, you can reduce wind and other background noise from your videos.
4. More ergonomic and durable design
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a more durable and ergonomic design. It measures 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm and weighs 218g. So, it is narrower (1.4mm), thinner (0.4mm), and lighter (15g) than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It also features rounded corners and flat sides, making it easier to hold for a longer period.
It is more durable, too, thanks to Grade 3 Titanium and Gorilla Glass Armor 2. The new screen protection panel offers improved drop protection and reduces glare and reflections compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
5. Louder speakers
While Samsung didn't specifically mention it, the stereo speakers on the Galaxy S25 Ultra are considerably louder than on its predecessor.
6. Qi2 Ready with new accessories
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is Qi2 Ready, thanks to Samsung's first-party accessories with magnets. If you use Qi2 accessories, the phone can be magnetically aligned to compatible Qi2 wireless chargers and other accessories that support the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP).
7. Seven major Android OS updates
The Galaxy S25 Ultra runs Android 15-based One UI 7.0 out of the box with some exclusive new features. Samsung has promised to offer seven major Android OS updates and security updates for up to seven years. That means the phone will be updated to Android 22 sometime in the year 2031.
