Google announced improvements to the Unknown Tracker Alerts feature on Android phones and tablets. After getting notified if an unfamiliar location tracker is moving with you, you can pause location updates from your phone for up to 24 hours so that the location tracker can't get your location.
Additionally, you can now pinpoint the location tracker so that you can physically access it and disable it. Your Galaxy (or any other Android) phone will help you in getting the pinpoint location of the tracker.
Google said in its press release that it will continue to improve Unknown Tracker Alerts so that the feature can't be used in an inappropriate or wrong way. It will continue to improve your privacy and security.
Watch our review of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 in the video below.
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 is an excellent location tracker, but it only works with Samsung's SmartThings Find platform. It doesn't work with Google's Find My Device, which is Android's default location tracker platform.
Hopefully, Google and Samsung will work it out and integrate their location-tracking platforms for a stronger ecosystem.
