Introduction
Samsung introduced its first location tracker back in 2021 and followed it up with the Galaxy SmartTag 2 in 2023. This tracker has been designed to work with Samsung's ecosystem of products while harnessing the potential of Samsung's SmartThings Find network.

Design
Samsung revamped the design and opted for an oblong design for the Galaxy SmartTag 2. There's a larger opening up top, making it possible for the tracker to be added to your existing keyring without needing a dedicated accessory. It has a small footprint over all so you can even keep one inside your wallet without much difficulty.
There's a programmable button in the center and you can select different tasks for the single and long press. The double press action is limited to helping you find the device that's synced with the tracker.

The Galaxy SmartTag 2 is a Bluetooth-based tracker and is also equipped with Ultra Wide Band Technology for enhanced tracking. You can see the tracker's approximate location in the SmartThings app and use the UWB feature for accurate tracking when in close proximity to the tracker.
You can also locate a misplaced smartphone with the Galaxy SmartTag 2 by double pressing the center button. It will trigger the connected phone's ringtone, enabling you to find it rather easily.
The center button can be used for smart home automation as well through Samsung's SmartThings platform. It doubles the tracker's functionality as an IoT remote, a very handy feature for those who have lots of smart home devices.
