Over the past few weeks, it has been widely reported that Samsung could unveil its next flagship smartphone series in the first half of February 2023. However, the actual launch date has been a mystery. Now, the actual Galaxy S23 launch date may have been revealed.

According to tipster IceUniverse (@UniverseIce), Samsung has set the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 launch event (for the Galaxy S23) to happen on February 1, 2023. This seems to be the launch date for the US. So, for the rest of the world, the launch date would most likely be February 2, 2023. It is also rumored that the Galaxy S23 series will go on sale in important markets two weeks after the official announcement. The other markets could get access to the phones before the end of March 2023.

What to expect from Galaxy S23 series?

The Galaxy S23 series will bring improvements to the display brightness, camera quality, and performance. All devices in the lineup are expected to come equipped with a faster version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, faster LPDDR5X RAM, and faster UFS 4.0 storage. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will keep using the same 5,000mAh battery as its predecessor, but the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ could have slightly bigger batteries.

The Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ will keep using a 50MP camera, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be upgraded to a 200MP primary camera. All three phones will be upgraded to 12MP front-facing cameras with autofocus, and some models might feature OIS. All phones will run Android 13 out of the box and have a bigger ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Samsung could equip the Galaxy S23 series with satellite connectivity for emergency situations. They will most likely feature GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C port, 45W fast charging, stereo speakers, IP68 rating, fast wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
