Samsung could be gearing up to launch a new 7-inch tablet in the coming weeks, as a 7-inch device with model number SM-T116 has recently made its way to Indian shores for testing. The model number suggests this device could be the Galaxy Tab 4 Lite, a possibility fueled by the very low import price of a single unit (Rs. 6,313, or around $99), which suggests that Samsung could be aiming for an even lower price than it did with the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite earlier this year.
For the specs, we can look towards the Geekbench database, which lists the SM-T116 with a Speadtrum sc8830 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Those are rather minimal specs that would match a ‘Lite' device perfectly, though we will need more details to be able to paint a better picture of what the SM-T116 is.
