Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic will no longer get updates

It was clear that Samsung would end Wear OS updates for the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic after the One UI 8 Watch update. Now, the company has also stopped offering security updates fo those devices.

After it released the September 2026 security update for several devices this week, Samsung also updated its security update scope webpage. Looking at the updated page, it has become clear that the company has ended software support for multiple Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

Both those smartwatches were the company's first Wear OS-based devices, and they debuted in mid-2021 with Wear OS 3-based One UI Watch software. They received four major Wear OS updates—Wear OS 3.5, Wear OS 4, Wear OS 5, and Wear OS 6—since their debut. The August 2026 security update was their last software update.

If you want a smartwatch that has up-to-date software, you should consider the Galaxy Watch 9 or the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 that were launched recently with Wear OS 7-based One UI Watch 9 software.
