One UI 9 beta update released for the Galaxy S24 series

This update was unexpected, as Samsung did not list the Galaxy S24 in its recent One UI 9.0 beta program expansion announcement.

After opening the One UI 9.0 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series yesterday, Samsung has released the One UI 9.0 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series as well. The company had not listed the Galaxy S24 series in its beta program expansion announcement.

The first One UI 9.0 beta update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra is now live (via @tarunvats33) in India, South Korea, and the US. In India, the update comes with firmware version S92xBXXU6ZZHL, while the US variants of the phones are receiving it with firmware version S92xU1UEU6ZZHL.

The Galaxy S24 phones sold in South Korea are getting this beta update with firmware version S92xNKSUHZZHL.

The update has a download size of around 3.6GB (though the exact size varies slightly for each model in the lineup) and includes the August 2026 security patch. The new release brings Android 17 and several new software features to all three smartphones.

If you live in any of the countries mentioned above and want to beta-test the new software, you must install the Samsung Members app on your eligible phone. Log into the app using the Samsung account tied to your device, and register for the One UI 9.0 Beta Program by tapping the related banner and following the on-screen instructions.

Once your phone is enrolled in the beta program, open the Settings app, navigate to Software update, and tap Check for updates. After the update is fully downloaded and installed, tap the Restart button to complete the installation process.
