Samsung releases One UI 9 beta update for Galaxy S25 series

One UI 9 is the second major OS upgrade for the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge and the first one for the FE model.

Owners of Galaxy S25 series phones can now join Galaxy S26 users in trying out One UI 9 (Android 17) on their devices. Samsung has started rolling out the first One UI 9 beta update to the 2025 flagship lineup in India and South Korea.

Android 17 is the second major Android OS upgrade for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and the first one for the Galaxy S25 FE. It is unclear if the Galaxy S25 Edge will be included in the beta program.

The first One UI 9.0 beta update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with firmware version S93xBXXUCZZHL in India and S93xNKSUCZZHL in South Korea. It has a download size of over 3.8GB for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. For other models in the lineup, the update size varies slightly.

The update also includes the August 2026 security patch for all the models in the series. Other countries could also get access to the One UI 9.0 Beta Program soon.

You can sign up for the beta program via the Samsung Members app. Once enrolled, you can download the first beta update from the phone's Settings > Software update menu.
