The latest security update fixes 56 security issues and is live in South Korea.

Samsung has started rolling out the August 2026 security patch to its tablets, and the first models to receive it aren’t its latest flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 series, or the 2024 flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Instead, the update has arrived first for the 2023 flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
Currently, the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra units for Samsung’s home country, South Korea, are getting the update. The updates for the three models have a size of around 342MB and firmware versions X71xXXS6EZH3, X81xXXS6EZH3, and X91xXXS6EZH3, respectively (via Samsung Community).
The August 2026 security patch brings with it fixes for a total of 56 security issues, making the three Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets more secure than before. The update should reach other countries over the next few days. You can check its availability and get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S9 series in 2023 with One UI 6 (Android 13) and promised to offer it four major OS upgrades. So far, the brand has offered three, with the tablets running on One UI 8.5. This means that they are eligible to get the company's next and latest custom Android interface, One UI 9.0 (Android 17).
