Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic
Samsung has started rolling out the August 2026 security patch to its smartwatches, and the first models to get it are the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.
Samsung seems to be rolling it out to the two wearables first in its home country, South Korea. The latest updates for the two smartwatches carry firmware versions R870XXS2JZG3 and R890XXS2JZG3, respectively (via @Alfaturk16).
The August 2026 security patch fixes 56 security issues, making the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic more secure than before. Usually, after rolling out an update first in its home country, Samsung releases it in other regions in the next few days.
To check the availability of the August 2026 security patch for your Galaxy Watch 4 or the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, open the Galaxy Wearables app and go to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
