Galaxy Tab S12+: Everything you need to know

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to be Samsung's high-end tablet and could launch alongside the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra toward the end of 2026. It is likely to bring performance and feature upgrades over the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S10+.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to be an extremely thin yet well-built device. It will likely follow the same overall design as its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S10+, with a metal frame made from Enhanced Armor Aluminum and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The S Pen included with the tablet could also have an IP68 rating.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1,752 x 2,800 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It could support HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG video playback. The screen may be protected by toughened glass to resist scuffs and scratches, while an under-display optical fingerprint reader could be used for security.

The bundled S Pen is expected to use Wacom EMR technology and offer accurate drawing and writing. It could support tilt detection and 4,096 pressure levels, have latency as low as 2.8ms, and attach magnetically to the tablet for charging.

Samsung could equip the Galaxy Tab S12+ with a single 12MP front-facing camera and a 12MP rear-facing camera with autofocus. Both cameras may be able to record up to 4K 60fps videos.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ will likely use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500+ processor, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It could feature GPS, 5G on cellular models, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with speeds of up to 5Gbps.

One UI 9.0 could come pre-installed on the Galaxy Tab S12+. The Android 17-based software may bring improved fluidity and a more consistent interface across Samsung's stock apps. It could also introduce additional customization and personalization options, such as more clock font options for lock screen widgets.

The tablet may also offer more advanced Galaxy AI features, including improved versions of Now Brief and Now Nudge.

Based on its rated battery capacity, the Galaxy Tab S12+ could have a typical battery capacity of 10,500mAh or 10,600mAh. That would represent around a 5% increase over the Galaxy Tab S10+. It will likely support 45W fast wired charging.

Samsung confirmed in Q3 2026 that the Galaxy Tab S12 series will launch this year. It is expected to be announced sometime in September 2026 alongside the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy S26 FE.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ could cost more than $1,100 in the US if Samsung continues its recent pricing trend for premium devices.
