Samsung's long-running partnership with South Korean boy band BTS looks set to continue with the Galaxy Z Fold 8. This time, though, it may have revealed a little more than the company intended.
BTS member J-hope shared a series of photos on Instagram while on the group's new world tour, and eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that he appears to be using Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The phone's design matches everything we've seen through previous leaks, making it one of the clearest real-world sightings of the device ahead of its official launch.
Thanks to BTS member J-hope, we got what we can only describe as a behind-the-scenes — or should we say BTS? — preview of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 ahead of its official announcement.
Samsung has worked with BTS to promote several Galaxy devices over the years, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is just another one to add to the list. It has even launched BTS editions of some of its phones, so seeing one of the group's members with its newest foldable isn't particularly surprising.
Was this early appearance planned or an accident? Your guess is as good as ours. It's certainly not the only major pre-launch reveal. Luxury brand Caviar has already started taking orders for its Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Lionel Messi Edition, essentially confirming the existence of Samsung's first Ultra-branded foldable before its launch.
Either way, it's yet another blow to anyone who was excited to watch Samsung's July 22 Unpacked event, where the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be unveiled alongside a bunch of other devices.
