Galaxy S25 units running One UI 8.5 beta are getting a new Google Play System update

Samsung's Galaxy S25 units running on the beta version of One UI 8.5 are getting a new Google Play System update.

Yesterday, many Samsung smartphones, especially the newer and higher-end ones, around the world started getting a Google Play System update, which was dated January 1, 2026. However, that was the case only for devices running on the stable version of One UI.

Galaxy phones running on the beta version of One UI, such as Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra units enrolled in the One UI 8.5 beta program, didn’t get that update. As it turns out, they are also getting a Google Play System update, but this one is different and older.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 units running on the beta version of One UI 8.5 are getting a new Google Play System update. It is 1.3MB in size and dated November 1, 2025 (via Tarun Vats).

At the moment, there's no information on how many changes the update includes from the ones that Google has mentioned for the November 2025 Google Play System update.

Going by comments from multiple people on the post, before this update arrived, some devices were running on the Google Play version for July, September, or November.
