One UI 8.5 brings several new and improved features. One such new feature is called Now Nudges, which automatically surfaces relevant information in apps so that you don't have to do the manual work for referencing data and switching between apps. That feature could be based on Android's new Contextual Suggestions feature.
Google first introduced an exclusive software feature called Magic Cue with the Pixel 10 series. Now, the company is bringing the same technology, named Contextual Suggestions, to Android. It means the feature could be released for all Android devices. And it is likely that One UI 8.5's Now Nudges feature is based on the same technology as well.
The Contextual Suggestions section of the Google Play Services app explains that it can offer helpful suggestions from your apps and services. For example, your favourite music app can suggest playlists at the gym based on what you usually listen to during your evening workouts. On the weekend, a video streaming app can suggest casting your sports match to the TV in your living room.
This feature works in an encrypted space on your phone. Relevant data isn't sent to Google's servers or apps, and it never leaves your device. Moreover, you can delete that data anytime you want, or it automatically gets deleted after 60 days. Your device activity and location data is stored in an encrypted space, and then AI analyses that information and decides what can be helpful to you.
Some Android users have started seeing this feature, and it can be found in Settings > Google > All services > Others. Samsung could bring more Now Nudges features with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. Based on recent leaks, Now Nudges can offer autofill information like address and loyalty card number when you are ordering food or surface flight information from a screenshot that you took earlier when you reach the airport.
