The Fun Mode uses Snap's Camera Kit software, allowing businesses and developers to use Snap's augmented reality filters in their own applications. Samsung has also expanded the Fun Mode feature to the Galaxy F and Galaxy M series. Apart from the Galaxy A series, Snapchat's features are also available on the Galaxy flagship lineups, including the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Note series, and the Galaxy Z series.
Samsung says that it is expanding its partnership with Snap to further explore the AR space and bring improvements to provide the best camera experience to its users.
As the official newsroom post noted, Samsung and Snap are working together to bring more engaging and fun ways for users to express themselves creatively. In 2021, they launched region-specific AR lenses in India, which was later expanded to other countries, “including Germany, Indonesia, Brazil, the Philippines, and Mexico.”
Ben Schwerin, SVP of Content and Partnerships at Snap, said, “Lenses are the way over 250 million Snapchatters engage with augmented reality every day, and we're thrilled that these experiences delight and resonate with Samsung Galaxy's community.” For a long time, Apple devices have had the ability to use their proprietary cameras on various social media apps, resulting in better social media uploads. Samsung's continuous efforts and collaboration with Snap have brought compelling AR experiences to Samsung Galaxy users across the world.
