The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event on February 9. However, almost everything about the upcoming smartphones has been leaked already. A new 4K image of the Galaxy S22 Ultra was revealed by leakster Ishan Agarwal, offering a closer look at the phone's camera bump.
While the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ will continue to use the design of their predecessors, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is taking a different approach. Unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which had a metal housing for the rear cameras, the Galaxy S22 Ultra uses individual camera rings which protrude slightly from the phone's back surface. It makes the whole rear design look simpler. The phone has a metal frame, and it is sandwiched between two Gorilla Glass Victus+ panels for added protection.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 40MP front-facing camera with autofocus. At the rear, it has a 108MP primary camera with OIS, PDAF, and laser autofocus. It is joined by a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom and OIS. Despite a camera configuration similar to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung's upcoming flagship phone will reportedly offer improved image and video quality.
Other features of the Galaxy S22 Ultra include a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED 120Hz display, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and an S Pen with a built-in slot. The phone is equipped with the Exynos 2200/Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB storage, stereo speakers, water resistance, a 5,000mAh battery, 45W fast charging, fast wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
