Samsung and Google have started teasing new AI (Artificial Intelligence) features developed through a partnership that's never been stronger. In a recent social media post on X, both Samsung Mobile and Google's Rick Osterloh confirmed that the two companies are continuing to work together to develop new exciting features.

According to these recent teasers, Google's Rick Osterloh and Samsung's TM Roh recently had a “terrific conversation” concerning their “collaboration on AI and the many opportunities ahead for both companies.”

Samsung followed up with its own social media message, confirming that it is working with Google “toward a shared vision of delivering the best Android ecosystem of products and services.”

In addition, Samsung confirmed that “exciting things are coming up for the future of AI-powered Android and Galaxy experiences.”

Galaxy Unpacked is just around the corner

Samsung's new Galaxy AI suite of tools was largely developed on Google frameworks. Circle to Search, for example, is a reinterpretation of Google Lens, and many Galaxy AI features rely on Google's most capable AI model, Gemini.

This is only the beginning, as both Samsung and Google are seemingly convinced that AI is the way to move forward to consolidate Android's position in the mobile market.

Samsung is expected to unveil new foldable flagship phones at its next Unpacked event, which we confirmed should take place in early July. These new phones will boast Galaxy AI and could introduce new features based on artificial intelligence and large language models.

In addition, Samsung recently teased new AI features for its upcoming wearables, such as the Galaxy Watch 7 series and its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring.

Meanwhile, Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm have also been hard at work developing a mixed-reality headset to compete with Apple's Vision Pro, the Meta Quest, and similar platforms. Whether this XR headset will employ Galaxy AI features remains to be seen, and rumors suggest that the device could be unveiled by Google at its upcoming I/O 2024 event.
