In case you're wondering, my Galaxy S24+ is powered by Samsung's new Exynos 2400 chip rather than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Plus, I've been using the new full-screen Always On Display feature and the QHD+ screen resolution since the day I unboxed the device.
The results? Well, I have to admit that battery life seemed average in the first few days, but now that the Galaxy S24+ has learned my usage patterns, battery performance is genuinely impressive.
Check out these screenshots I took last night. Almost 14 hours after I unplugged the Galaxy S24+ from the wall charger, it had a 52% battery charge and an estimated 17 hours and 26 minutes of usage left.
More so, by the time I got to 52% capacity after almost 14 hours of usage, I had 6 hours and 20 minutes of screen-on time, with a whopping 4 hours and 35 minutes spent on YouTube alone, and 37 minutes in Google Chrome.
As a side note, the Always On Display took 4.3% battery, which may seem like a lot. But it's important to remember that it took those 4.3% over nearly 14 hours of usage. In a nutshell, the new full-screen AOD doesn't consume nearly as much energy as some might have feared.
Coming from the Galaxy S22+, which was no slouch, I am genuinely impressed by the battery performance of the Galaxy S24+. And if you are just now unboxing your Galaxy S24+, trust me when I say you should use it for at least a week before you draw any conclusions regarding battery life. You might be surprised.
