Samsung is continuing to release the Android 14 update to Galaxy smartphones. Two weeks after releasing the Android 14 update to the Galaxy A52 5G in Europe, the company has released the update to Galaxy A52 5G in the US. Other regions could get the update within the next few days.

Carrier-locked Galaxy A52 5G units get Android 14 update in the US

The Galaxy A52 5G is now getting the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update in the US. The new software update is currently available for the carrier-locked units in the US with firmware version A526USQUCFWL1 (via SammyFans). It is a big software update, clocking in at around 2GB of download size. It also includes the December 2023 security patch that fixes around 75 security flaws discovered in the previous software version.

If you have a Galaxy A52 5G in the US, which is a carrier-locked model, you can check for the new software update on your device right now. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database once it is available. You can use that file to flash the new firmware manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A52 5G in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The higher mid-range smartphone received the Android 12 update in late 2021 and the Android 13 update in late 2022. This is the phone's third big software update, and another (Android 15) could arrive sometime later this year, completing Samsung's promise of four major Android OS updates for the device.

The new software introduces a brand-new Quick Panel layout that displays more quick settings toggles and some of them are grouped together for easier access. There is a new default font, new styling for all emojis, and a new design for the media player widget that appears in the notifications area and the lock screen.

Samsung has added more font, styling, and placement options for the lock screen clock widget. The company has improved all the stock apps. The built-in Camera app now has easier-to-access controls, while the Gallery app shows image editing suggestions in the file information section. The built-in image editor shows more prominent dials for editing. The built-in video editor has been renamed to Samsung Studio, and it now supports drafts.

There is a two-hand gesture that allows you to select multiple files together and move them from one place to another. The Settings app now has a direct entry for Battery-related settings. Objects or subjects in an image can be clipped from images or video frames and saved as stickers inside the Samsung Keyboard app.
