The Galaxy S22 series is getting a new firmware in the USA. The update is rolling out for carrier and unlocked variants. One UI 6.0 has been out on the Galaxy S22 in the USA for a few weeks, so this new update is all about improving security.

The December 2023 security patch is all that's included in this new update, judging by the firmware version. The unlocked Galaxy S22 is getting the update with firmware number S90xU1UES3DWL1, and the carrier Galaxy S22 is getting firmware version S90xUSQS3DWKA.

    More than six dozen fixes

According to the official changelog Samsung published for the December 2023 security patch at the beginning of the month, 75 fixes are included in this release. 54 of those vulnerability fixes are related to Google's software. The remaining 21 fixes address vulnerabilities in Samsung hardware and apps.

As usual, you can download the latest update on the Galaxy S22 by opening the Settings app on your phone, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” You can also find official firmware files on our website if you prefer manual updates over a PC.
