Apple announced the Vision Pro in June this year. Back then, the Cupertino-based tech giant revealed all the features of the mixed reality (MR) headset and said that the product would become “available early next year in the U.S.” However, Apple didn’t announce an exact date when the Vision Pro would go on sale and details about its availability for other markets. Today, a new leak sheds light on the missing piece of the puzzle.

According to Mark Gurman (via Android Authority), Apple is planning to launch the Vision Pro in the US in March 2024. Reportedly, it had earlier planned to make the MR headset available for purchase in the country in January 2024. However, Apple is said to be still working on distribution plans and conducting the final testing of the device, which has caused a delay, pushing the availability of the MR headset by almost two months.

As for the availability of Vision Pro in markets outside the US, Mark says that Apple could launch the MR headset in Canada and the UK by the end of this year. Unfortunately, there’s still no information about when the company will make the Vision Pro available to purchase in other countries around the globe. That being said, given the price tag of $3,500, not many people around the globe might be looking forward to its launch.

Apple is working on an affordable version of Vision Pro

While the Vision Pro is yet to hit the market, Apple is already working on a more affordable version of the MR headset (codenamed Project Alaska), and the company is expected to launch it in late 2025 or early 2026. The affordable version of the Vision Pro could directly rival the upcoming MR headset from Samsung, called the XR Headset, which, the Korean tech giant is developing in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm.
