Your Galaxy S23 FE will be updated all the way to Android 17!

The Galaxy S23 FE, like the previous Galaxy S FE devices from Samsung, is meant to offer a high-end experience at a price that doesn't drill a hole in your pocket. The S23 FE will be $100 cheaper than the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S21 FE in some countries and will go on sale in select markets on October 5.

Because of leaks that gave it all away, there's nothing new or surprising to learn from Samsung's official announcement. Some of the notable things about this phone include Samsung's decision to use the Galaxy S22's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 chipsets (the latter will be used in most markets), a 50MP rear camera, and a flagship-grade 10MP front camera instead of the mid-range 32MP sensors used by its predecessors.

Galaxy S23 FE guaranteed to get four Android version updates

The Galaxy S23 FE will come running Android 13 and One UI 5.1 out of the box, and many will be wondering how long this device will be supported with updates. And, as we expected, the S23 FE will be eligible for four generations of Android OS upgrades like other flagship/high-end phones Samsung has launched since 2022, unless Samsung decides to change its policy as a response to Google's rumored policy of updating future Pixel devices for seven years.

Those who pick up a Galaxy S23 FE will be getting updates till Android 17/2027, after which they will get security updates for a year or two. And before the end 2023, the S23 FE will have its first big update in the form of Android 14 and One UI 6.0, likely a few weeks after it is released for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra.
