Samsung is reportedly planning to upgrade the display experience of its entire Galaxy S24 series, not just the Ultra model. All three variants will supposedly have brighter displays, and the Galaxy S24+ might boast a higher resolution panel than its recent predecessors.

You may have heard the recent rumor about the Galaxy S24 Ultra having a really bright AMOLED display capable of topping 2,500 nits of brightness. Well, the news keeps getting better.

Samsung might give the entire Galaxy S24 series new displays capable of reaching the same brightness levels as the Ultra model. According to a rumor (via @UniverseIce), the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra will all be capable of reaching peak brightness levels of 2,500 nits. And that's not all.

    Story continues after the video

    Galaxy S24+ might have a higher-fidelity display

In addition to giving the upcoming Galaxy S24 series brighter displays, Samsung might also equip the Plus variant with a higher-resolution panel. Instead of 2340 x 1080 pixels, the Galaxy S24+ will supposedly have a resolution of 3120 x 1440.

Samsung hasn't used a WQHD+ resolution for the Plus models in its Galaxy S series since the Galaxy S20+. Subsequent models had a lower resolution, which most people didn't mind, as pixel density was still high enough to deliver a crisp image, yet the lower pixel count made the phones last longer on a battery charge.

If the rumors are correct, the Galaxy S24+ will have a higher resolution display with much higher peak brightness capabilities. With these changes, Samsung is bound to impress spec sheet enthusiasts, but on the other hand, battery life could potentially suffer. So, whether these changes will really lead to a better user experience remains to be seen.

As far as battery life is concerned, the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “for Galaxy” chips will also play a critical role in the final outcome.
