Six months from now, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S24 series. The next-generation phones in the Galaxy S lineup are expected to bring improved cameras, brighter screens, and faster processors. While some information about the displays on the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ was revealed earlier, tidbits about the Galaxy S24 Ultra's display have now been leaked.

Galaxy S24 Ultra could have a 2,200 nits OLED screen

According to a tipster named itnyang (@hyacokr_itnyang), the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a display that can reach a peak brightness of up to 2,200 nits. However, reliable tipster IceUniverse (@UniverseIce) replied, saying that the brightness level will be even higher than 2,200 nits. The itnyang said that Samsung is testing Galaxy S24 Ultra prototypes that have displays that can reach 2,500 nits and even 2,800 nits. However, the company may not launch the phone with such high brightness levels due to several reasons, and one of those reasons could be power consumption.

It was revealed a few days ago that the Galaxy S24 Ultra uses a new OLED panel that's internally called M13. It has newer materials that help the display reach peak brightness levels of up to 2,500 nits. This is the same panel that's used in Apple iPhone 15 Pro lineup and the OPPO Find X6 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro Max reaches up to 2,000 nits, while the OPPO Find X6 Pro goes all the way up to 2,500 nits in certain scenarios. However, Samsung may limit the peak brightness levels to 2,200 nits.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is also rumored to feature a 200MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. On the front, it will likely feature the same 12MP selfie camera used in its predecessor. The phone is said to feature a 5,000mAh battery with up to 45W fast charging. Some Galaxy S24 units could use the Exynos 2400 chip, while others could use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Both chips are likely made using TSMC's 4nm process.
