Samsung might be gearing up to release the second One UI 6.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S23 series before the end of the month. A Samsung Community moderator briefly spilled the beans on when the second beta update might be coming, but as usual, nothing is set in stone.

Here's a quick recap of the latest events: A Community moderator addressed some user complaints related to bugs found in the first One UI 6.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S23. The same moderator stated that the second One UI 6.0 beta firmware will fix some of the bugs affecting the first beta.

More importantly, the moderator briefly revealed that the upcoming (2nd) beta update should roll out for the Galaxy S23 in select markets on August 29.

Now, if you are a beta tester, don't get your hopes up yet. Even after these claims, the 2nd beta update's release date is in question.

    Story continues after the video

Second One UI 6.0 beta firmware could land on the Galaxy S23 soon

Something has put a damper on the purported August 29 release. Namely, the moderator who made these claims later retracted them. The original post was edited, and the August 29 reference was removed. Evidence of the discussion remains and consists of a few screenshots (via @tarunvats33), but where does this leave us?

In short, these signs point at Samsung wanting to release the second One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 series relatively soon. At some point, even if Samsung's plans may have changed, the company at least aimed for an August 29 release.

But whether Samsung is still aiming for that August 29 date is unclear. Perhaps nothing's changed, but the company isn't comfortable setting the date stone through its Community forums. Samsung may still want to roll out the second One UI 6.0 beta firmware a week from now but doesn't want to commit, or perhaps something intervened, and the original plans no longer apply.

We want to remain optimistic and say that the second One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 will hit the waves sooner rather than later, but only time will tell exactly how things develop. And with Samsung not wanting to commit to precise dates, everything remains subject to change. We'll keep you posted.
