Some Galaxy S22 users will have to wait for Samsung's Image Clipper feature

The Galaxy S23 series launched with One UI 5.1 and a slew of new software features. Samsung is bringing many of those features to older devices, which is something the company does every time a new flagship Galaxy device hits retail shelves.

One of the best features introduced with the Galaxy S23 is Image Clipper. Image Clipper is a feature that lets you, as the name suggests, clip objects from an an image (both in the Gallery app and in Samsung Internet), which you can then share with others, save as a different image, or copy and paste it in other apps on your phone. It's basically an auto-cropping tool that you should definitely try out if you own a compatible phone.

Samsung recently started bringing Image Clipper to older devices, including last year's Galaxy S22 series. Image Clipper is included in the April 2023 update for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S23 Ultra, but it seems that isn't the case everywhere.

Next Galaxy S22 update should bring Image Clipper to users who were left out

Many of our readers, especially those in the USA, have pointed out that their phone didn't get Image Clipper with the April update, so if you have a Galaxy S22 on the April firmware and don't have Image Clipper, you're not alone. It seems the April update is not the same in every country, so some Galaxy S22 users are likely going to have to wait for the next update.

Unless Samsung releases another update for the Galaxy S22 series this month, you can expect the May 2023 update to bring Image Clipper to your phone. However, just to confirm that you haven't already received the feature, be sure to check out the Updates section of the Galaxy Store to install any pending app updates, especially for Samsung apps such as Gallery.

If you have a different Galaxy phone and are wondering if it's eligible to get the Image Clipper, well, all that is known right now is that Samsung is keeping the feature exclusive to its flagship phones. At the time of this writing, Image Clipper is confirmed to be coming to the devices listed below.
