With an aim to integrate the advanced technology of Israeli startups and tech companies into its mobile devices and products, Samsung has launched a tech accelerator program. According to a new report, as a part of this tech program, Samsung will be funding selected Israeli startups with a grant of $50,000 each.

Additionally, the South Korean giant will also help these startups with technical support from its world-class R&D units over a period of six months. Israeli startups that will be applying for the Samsung Mobile Advance (SMA) program are required to build a pilot that will showcase the company's prowess in innovation and technology.

Moreover, the pilot should be able to demonstrate how it will complement Samsung products and be able to differentiate Samsung's mobiles and software.

The Samsung tech accelerator program in Israel will run from July 2023 till February 2024

The main focus of Samsung in this tech accelerator program in Israel will be in the following areas: camera (optics, algorithms, electronics), power, audio, on-device AI, metaverse/augmented reality (XR), sensors, foldable technology, wearables, health, connectivity, environment and sustainability (ESG), and advanced materials.

Samsung's tech accelerator program in Israel will run from July 2023 until February 2024. The winning startups will be announced a month prior, in June, which will be followed by the pitch of their proof of concept (POC) proposal directed to Samsung’s Korean development team and the Israeli mobile team. The program is in its second year in Isreal, and similar programs are also taking place in other regions, including the US, Europe, Canada, China, Japan, and India.

Giving his views on this tech accelerator program, the Samsung Research Israel director of Open Innovation Lior Yekoutieli, said, “We encourage qualified Israeli companies to apply to the program, as it is a wonderful opportunity for them to enter one of the world’s leading tech companies through the front door.
