Apple is planning to launch an AR/VR headset this spring, ahead of WWDC 2023. The device will go on sale somewhere around fall this year, claims Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. A couple of days ago, Ming Chi-Kuo, another Apple analyst, had also predicted Apple's AR/VR headset to go on sale before the end of 2023. While Apple is on the verge of launching an AR/VR headset, there’s no sign of one from Samsung.

According to Gurman, Apple has already sent the prototype hardware to a small number of developers for testing. However, the device is far from finished, and Apple reportedly has a lot of issues to fix. Earlier reports had suggested that Apple's AR/VR headset could debut in January, and according to Gurman, that information was true. However, the timeline slipped as the company had a lot of work to do on the product and squash a lot of bugs.

Reportedly, Apple has “roped in resources” from other departments to prevent a further delay in the launch of the device. This slowed down the development of other upcoming products from the company. After unveiling the product in spring, Apple will release resources and tools for developers at WWDC, which will be held in June, so that they can come up with apps and services for the AR/VR headset by the time it goes on sale.

Back in March, Samsung CEO Jong-Hee suggested that the company is making an AR/VR headset. He said “it won’t take too long” for the product to come to the market. However, since then, there has been no news about Samsung’s upcoming AR/VR headset. “We are striving for perfection as we gear up for the launch,” he had added, which inspired confidence. But if Samsung doesn’t launch one soon, Apple could dominate the market.
