Galaxy Note 9 Pie release for Nordic countries brings newer software build

Samsung has released the Android Pie update for the Galaxy Note 9 in Nordic countries today. The software version for the update for Nordic countries is N960FXXU2CSA7, which is a newer build than the one that rolled out to other countries when the Note 9’s stable Pie update was first released. It’s unclear if it brings anything new other than the software version, though.

The update for the Nordic region comes with the January 2019 security patch and is a 1.6GB download over the air. If you own a Note 9 in any of the Nordic countries, you should be able to grab the update immediately by tapping the Download updates manually option in the Software update menu of the phone’s Settings app. It’s not available over Samsung Smart Switch or in our firmware section just yet, but we can expect to see that change in a day or so.

Once you’ve updated to Pie, do read up on all the new features that it brings to the Galaxy Note 9 in addition to the visual upgrades offered by Samsung’s beautiful One UI. If you’re in a different country, you can keep an eye out on our constantly updated list of countries where the Note 9 Pie update has been released.

Any changes or updates to Samsung AR Emojis for the note 9 and s9, as folks try out pie??

Vuk995
Vuk995

Not really, at least note9. One thing i noticed about AR’s, but i am not sure if it was before (because i was not interested in that), is that you are able to put AR’ Gifs on contact picture? Also, you do get more option when it comes to “live contact images”

Thank you Vuk995. Good to know. I know the AR Emojis are not huge in popularity but Samsung had promised sweeping upgrades and more Disney/other characters to be added on a announcement late last fall, I have not seen any such updates?? I have heard some other changes within Pie AR emojis have been found, such as more choices in face colors and hair styles, more accurate face movement tracking due to the last camera update Note 9 and a few other things. I have not received the Pie update yet.Keep me posted as to what you find in pie… Read more »

Thanks for posting; I see already what went wrong:
You switched from the BRANDED SwissCom CSC to the UN-branded AUT CSC. AUT is part of Multi-CSC OXM, where SWC is not included. In order to get your ACTIVE CSC to AUT (which now is XEU on your device), you must reset your device. You’ll get a pop-up saying “SIM-card has changed”, ACCEPT, your device will restart and the active CSC will change to AUT.
Then you’ll get also OTA’s for AUT.

I have it and bringing down the notification bar on the lockscreen is extremely choppy and slow when the resolution is set to QHD, don’t understand how they could overlook this.

Never experienced that.
Could be because I did a factory reset after the update.

Sjokosaus

I did a full factory reset expecting it to fix it, but nope.

It’s not your fault or something you can fix, it’s a real problem that was reported during the beta from a lot of users. Samsung did nothing to fix it, same as for a lot of other issues with android 9 one UI.

siaho
siaho

Turn on the screen without unlocking the phone, swipe to bring down the quick settings, have the animations on normal as it’s by default (not sure if it would make a diff, lazy to test it) = voala, choppy fest, especially if no notifications even on 2 weeks installed update, i.e. it’s not caching. It’s the same on my exynos note 9 + a lot of people reported the same around the web + to top it out, it was also reported to samsung. 🙂

siaho

They didn’t, it was reported from a lot of people on exynos note 9 and true – it’s absurdly to a fun level, choppy.

I hope they have fixed issues on this new built. Updated to UK release yesterday and there are so many issues. Lag in multitasking and a few more to name.

What UK release? There was no beta in UK for Note 9 and there was no official updat yet in UK

rmbln01

UK’s BTU & XEU already received the Official Pie Update.

When? I’m only checking this on sam firmware, currently using German release, sideloaded. Have to bring back 8.1 than to do it OTA. Can you give the date of release in UK please?

It was reported here in Sammobile a couples a day ago.
Same build as the German Firmware.

First. Do a reinstall. Then complain. Many issues can be fixed 😀
