Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cases spotted online, point towards a curved display

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2, 2016, but a lot of information regarding the smartphone has been leaked already, including its possible specifications and color variants. Now, case maker Olixar has listed multiple Galaxy Note 7 cases online, revealing the physical design of the device.

These case listings reveal the Galaxy Note 7 in white color with a curved display and an S Pen slot in its regular position. The design of the device seems close to that of the Galaxy S7 edge. Samsung appears to have made up its mind to release only the curved screen variant of the Galaxy Note 7 and do away with the flat screen variant altogether. Other than that, these premium Olixar’s NovaShield cases for the Galaxy Note 7 would be available in Blue Leather, Carbon Fibre Gold, Fibre Black, and Red Leather trims.

The next Galaxy Note device is expected to feature a 5.7-inch or 5.8-inch QHD curved Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, microSD card slot, TouchWiz Grace UX, an iris recognition system, IP68 certification, and USB Type-C port.

When I first purchased my Note 4, I wanted it waterproof like the S5. But the Edge Screen for durability in the environment that I use it is as big of a deal breaker as not being able to swap out the battery. The other features removed from the 4 to increase profit and allow buy one get one free deals like the S7 do not impress me. The spec’s do but…… If the device is anti productive in my work environment it is still functionality a downgrade, leaving the Note 4 as the last great Galaxy device. We may… Read more »

Please Please Please Samsung offer curved and non. I would like an extremely flat screen! 1, so I can use a tempered screen protector full screen (like I did on my S4) and 2 after using my note 4, just feels easier to use.

Depends on the market. In my country, the regular Note 4 cost was 1100 bucks…

If Samsung goes ahead and places only a 3600 mAh battery in the Galaxy Note 7 youve just lost another costumer. I paying for high quality Samsung Note phone and I don’t want a cheap battery installed.

I’m more concerned with what it can do than how big it is. Endurance is what matters, not mAh.

Obviously you haven’t used an S7 Edge. Now my Note 5 has a 3000mah battery and lasts more than a day. My wife’s S7 Edge with a 3600mah battery lasts almost 2 full days and she’s always on it. Some people just want to moan. Don’t buy a Samsung, I don’t think Samsung will be crying if you don’t buy one.

She is a heavy user, I’m a heavy user myself, but she’s more of a heavy user than I am.

Dude, The 5.5″ Galaxy S7 edge with a 3600mah battery DOESN’T HAVE AN S-PEN INSIDE OF IT. The Galaxy Note 7 will only be marginally (0.2″) bigger and the S Pen takes up quite a bit of space, without it, the battery could be increased 20-25%. The Note 3 was 3200mah, Note 4 was 3220mah, Note 5 was 3000mah, Note 6/7 will be 3600mah, that’s still pretty impressive.

s7 edge or note 7 edge ????

Well obviously the S7 Edge doesn’t have a stylus or the relevant spen enabled features. One would need to a bit dumb to get confused now, wouldn’t one? 🙂 But if you are asking which one to choose, if you need a stylus get the Note, if you don’t need one get an S7 Edge.

Bad times for people which are searching for an flat-screen samsung phablet.

Yes, I’m happy generally with the specs but this could be a big problem for me as I’m an engineer and use the Autocad app on site for pipework design. The flat edge is my straight line border and the curved edge could make it unusable. An app update may fix it, but even then there is a physical problem drawing designs on a curved screen. I hope there’s a flat one.

A good question and well spotted!! The speaker on the Note 5 is at the bottom my friend, much better than the back. I imagine that the Note 7 will be similar.. 🙂

Just hope That the price will be have the same starting price as a flat one since its may only gone be a curved. As long the price won’t be expensive as the s7 edge

It’s probably going to be about $800 USD. The base S6 Edge+ was about $750 and the S7 Edge is also around $750. $750-800 seems about right esp if the S7/Edge get price cuts this summer.

Take my money Samsung!!! I can’t wait to buy the Note7! A (duel edged) curved Note device is my dream phone…

You and me both. I thought the original Note Edge was ugly with that single large curved edge. This is much much better. On top of that this thing is going to be a specs beast. I hope the blue one comes to the US. It better lol.
