Only a few hours after the Galaxy Tab S was officially announced, Samsung US has started taking pre-orders for the Super AMOLED display-toting tablet. The Wi-Fi version of both 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch variants can be pre-ordered in white or bronze colors, with the former priced at $399.99 and the latter at $499.99. As far as accessories are concerned, you will need to shell out an additional $39.99 for the Simple Cover, or $59.99 for the Book Cover, with the latter a better option thanks to its ability to fold into multiple angles. The pre-orders will start shipping in two weeks, which means you can expect to have the device(s) in your hands sometime in early July.
The Galaxy Tab S features 2560×1600 Super AMOLED displays, an octa-core Exynos 5420 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 3GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, a fingerprint sensor, NFC, IR Blaster, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung's Magazine UX and features such as Kids Mode, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Remote PC, and more. The 8.4-inch variant is powered by a 4,900mAh battery, while the larger model sports a 7,900mAh battery.
